There are many doomsday ''prophets' out there today, especially with the dreadful attack on civilians in Israel and the conflict that is now rapidly developing before our eyes.
It seems that all of a sudden everyone who has a podcast or an Instagram account seems to know the date when the world will end and Jesus will return in power and glory. Strange really, especially as Jesus himself said that nobody knows when that will be, for it could happen anytime God chooses, and at a time that none of us may imagine.
We were not called to be prophets or prognosticators. We were told to 'Watch, and pray'; and when you see certain things happening in the world, to lift up our hearts and eyes to heaven because the day of Redemption of God's people is very close.
So, having said that, I do believe however that there are more than enough signs both on earth, among the nations, in the skies, and throughout the universe, to say categorically that time is short, and it is time to get ready to meet God.
We live right now in the closing chapter of this world's history, headed toward the Bible prophecy of Armageddon and the Judgment Day of the LORD, and our eternal destinies.
The foolishness and corruption of mankind is visible everywhere you look, and the hatred of Jesus Christ evident throughout the nations. But they shall all fall on their knees before him in utter terror when he bursts through the clouds with the armies of heaven. And all the evil of this world will be destroyed by God himself with a consuming fire.
We need to get right with God and prepare for the return of the Messiah. We need to wake up and come to our senses before the night becomes so dark we cannot find the way of escape.
And this message is first of all to everyone who calls themselves a 'Christian'; for judgment begins at the house of the LORD.
The church is so caught up in the things of this world, and 'Christians' are utterly obsessed with their self-comforts, sport, leisure, money, greed, and personal ambitions, that many who claim to be 'Believers' will be left behind when Christ comes to take his people home.
Read the Bible if you don't believe this. It is all there in black and white. It has never changed, even though the flash preachers think it has. They are deceived and do not know the truth. God's Word is truth, and you shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free.
Matthew 24 is a good place to start.
