Do not listen to or watch the news. Do not trust the politicians or the stories of doom and gloom.
Listen to and read the truth, and you will find the way to assurance, peace, and stability in these times of turbulence and uncertainty.
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present [a very close and near]
help in time of trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth is removed [even though the world is turned upside
down], and even if the mountains are moved into the middle of the sea;
3 even though the waters of the sea roar and are troubled, and the
mountains shake with the rising level and swelling of it. Selah [pause
and consider].
4 There is a river, the streams of which shall make the city of God
joyful, the holy place of the dwelling places of the most High [the most High
God].
5 God is in the midst of her [right there in the very heart of her]; she
shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen [the unbelievers] raged and protested, the nations were exceedingly shaken: he uttered his
voice [God spoke], the earth melted.
7 The LORD of hosts [hosts of angels, angelic armies] is with us; the God
of Jacob is our refuge. Selah [pause and consider].
8 Come, see, and look at the works of the LORD, what desolations [what destructions] he
has brought about in the earth.
9 He makes wars to cease to the ends of the world; he breaks the bow, and
cuts the spear in pieces; he burns the chariot in the fire [he destroys the
weapons and the vehicles of the armies].
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Selah [pause and consider].
