'In peace true soldiers are captive lions, fretting in their cages. War gives them their liberty and sends them, like boys bounding out of school, to obtain their heart's desire, or perish in the attempt. Battle is the soldier's vital breath! Peace turns him into a stooping asthmatic. War makes him a whole man again, and gives him the heart, strength, and vigour of a hero.'
C.T. Studd (famous British missionary)

Too lazy to find out the truth

What a generation we live in! Addicted to social media and all the trash that pours out of its senseless void, this brainwashed age would rather be entertained with garbage and the embarrassing folly of a bankrupt society, than search for the truth that gives meaning to life and brings sense to their existence.

This addiction to nonsense, that may make everyone laugh, adds absolutely no value to anyone's life. However, it has grown into a worldwide 'pandemic' (if ever there was any such thing befitting of that title). It reflects the real crisis of a senseless age, where people live simply to satisfy their emotions and cravings for entertainment that steals their minds away from finding out why they are here and what they are meant to be doing.

It has, of course, worked out perfectly for the evil powers that seek to enslave the whole world with their idea of what life on planet earth should be like.

And why is it that truth is so scarce these days? It is simply because people would rather accept the lies that are being propagated constantly, than go and dig for the truth; for to find truth we must search for it with all our hearts.

Truth never changes. It cannot change. It is fixed and permanent and will survive everything and overcome everything, and at the end, truth will judge everything, and everybody.

Most have become too lazy to get off their backsides, open the book, and discover for themselves what has been deliberately hidden from them by their governments, the disgusting and lying media, and the so-called 'experts' who have as many mental health problems as anyone else in our confused and troubled society.

'The soul of the sluggard (the lazy-minded) desires for this and that, and has nothing: but the soul of the diligent (the industrious, the determined) shall be made fruitful and prosperous.'  (King Solomon, Proverbs 13:4)

There are many people who have great ideas for business, who hold in their hands amazing gifts and abilities, inheritances and potential wealth: but because they are lazy-minded (and subsequently can't be bothered to stretch themselves a bit), they never succeed in achieving their desires or ambitions.

It is the same with truth. The truth is out there (as they say), but few will make the effort to find it.

God says that if we will search for him with all our heart, he will be found of us. If we can tear ourselves away from the amusements of this world and find a place to seek after him, he will discover himself to us. Ahh, but the mobile phone, the messaging, the Whatsapp, are all too dear to us to turn them off, even for a moment. We would rather have the noise of manic, insensible, 'music' blaring in our ears constantly, than listen for the small, still voice, of our Creator.

'Woe to them who build house next to house, until there is no place for a man to be alone in the earth.'  (Isaiah 5:8)  The whole planet is enveloped in the confusion and roar of a lost race, the inaudible bombardment of invisible sound running through the air from ground to sky every minute of the day. "Stop the world", said somebody, "I want to get off".

But you can turn off the noise. You can shut the door on this world for a while. You can switch the technology off. You can come away and find a quiet place. And if you do, you might just meet with God in a real and life-changing way.

'Be still, and know that I am God', says the Bible: but we have far too much to amuse ourselves with than to actually do the only thing that will save our lives from the Armageddon just over the hill and out of sight for the moment.

The day will turn to night, the sun will turn to darkness, and for the great majority, they will not even notice when it happens. They are self-absorbed in their own programmed mind-sets, too set in their ways and ritualistic habits, to turn around and face the reality of God and his warnings to every one of us.

Stay lazy, if that is what pleases you. Keep in the waiting line, queueing for whatever it is you might expect but will never see; but if you have anything left inside of you that might get you to turn around from the place where you are vegetating, then now is the time. Now is the time to ask God for help and for mercy that might bring transformation to your life and a new beginning, a new start.

If anyone is in Christ Jesus (if they truly know him and have received him as the only salvation for their lives), they are a new creation! Old things have passed away, and everything has become new! (That is also in the Bible)

You may be a 'believer' already, but have become as lazy as everyone else, backslidden, and simply assume that you will get to heaven somehow. Well, you had better wake up very smartly, because soon it will be too late, and you will sink into the cushion that has become so comfortable to your way of life. Your heart will become hardened and your ears deaf to the voice of God.

Jesus will appear unto those who are looking for him, says the writer of Hebrews. To those who seek him, he will appear as Saviour and friend, but for those whose hearts are engrossed in the things of this world and the entertainment of the fools who say there is no God, he will appear as Judge.

Seek the truth, for the truth will make you free.  Jesus said, "I am the truth."
