'In peace true soldiers are captive lions, fretting in their cages. War gives them their liberty and sends them, like boys bounding out of school, to obtain their heart's desire, or perish in the attempt. Battle is the soldier's vital breath! Peace turns him into a stooping asthmatic. War makes him a whole man again, and gives him the heart, strength, and vigour of a hero.'
C.T. Studd (famous British missionary)

Creation begins with a word

Those universally known words, 'Let there be light', signalled the first light to shed its rays into the darkness of the void:  'And there was light'.

We create our own darkness and our own light at times through our own words. If you go round telling everyone that you are sick and tired of living, then you may well end up sick and tired. If you tell yourself that you will never get anywhere in life, then the probability is that you never will. 'Life and death are in the tongue', says the Bible, and it is absolutely true. We must pay attention to what we speak, both to ourselves and to others. Our words are much more important than we could ever imagine.

To speak out faith and expectation is to lay the very foundation blocks of hope and promise, especially though to those whose faith is based upon God and what the Bible says. "According to your faith be it unto you", Jesus said to a man who needed a pretty big miracle: and according to his faith he replied, 'Lord, I believe', and he got what he so needed.

Faith in God, speaking positively instead of negatively, and allowing God's love to rule in your life will see you through every circumstance and bless you; and make you a blessing to others.

We have a natural disposition to moan about everything and everybody. It is easier to speak bad of a situation or a person than to speak hope, joy, and great expectations, especially when things look far from good. However, the Bible teaches very clearly that if walk in love, our actions and impulses will show themselves in the way Jesus might react. We will be patient and suffer with grace the injustices and problems people cause us at times; we will be kind both in our attitudes and our words; we will not be jealous, nor elevate ourselves to some superior position or become pompous.

It goes on further to say that our reactions are not what the world might normally expect from someone. We ought to behave in a different manner because of our faith and conviction. We are not living and looking out for ourselves, and we do not get easily irritated or provoked when taunted or dealt with badly. The love of  God shed abroad in our hearts looks beyond the faults and failings of others, even though they appear most evil at times.

We do not rejoice or take enjoyment in those things that hurt another, whether it be unkind words, or selfish and cruel actions. In fact, because of our knowledge of God we rejoice in the truth; and knowing that the truth can make people free; we do all we can to see them at liberty.

The true loving heart puts up with everything and bears other people's burdens at times, knowing that we ourselves were once slaves to the devil and the corruption that is in the world. Love believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. And so it is in the believers life, that by God's grace and love indwelling us, we can believe for more and better things where all is spoilt and seemingly ruined. We can hope beyond what seems possible, and that hope becomes faith which can move mountains and see precious lives transformed and restored to God's glory. Finally, love, the love of God, in us endures all things. It has no limits, no end, for it is of God, and not of us.

Love never fails.

Of course, this is my transliteration of 1Corinthians 13 (the most well know passage on love in the Bible).

Now, if we live in line with all of that, then our words will become towers of power and strength which can move mountains, turn the enemies backward, pull down the strongholds of evil, and bring salvation and healing wherever we go and to whoever we are led to speak to.

If we live according to the principal of love, then we shall be blessed and our way shall be made prosperous with God.

God bless you.
